Our Experience at the Jesus Exhibition – Milton Keynes

Before sharing the incredible opportunities Allah allowed us to create for non-Muslims at Masjid Al-Rawdha, it is only right that we begin with gratitude. Firstly, all praise is due to Allah, and then our heartfelt thanks to Masjid Al-Rawdha for trusting us and opening their doors for the Jesus Exhibition.

We also extend our appreciation to Islamic Centre Coffee Hall and Bradwell Masjid for allowing us to advertise the exhibition—may Allah grant all of them a share of the reward.

A special mention goes to Abu Hamza for his inspiring khutbah on the importance of dawah, which uplifted and energised the entire team.

Abu Hamza emphasizes the importance of understanding and practicing Islam, particularly the duty of Muslims to engage in dawah (calling others to Islam).

Furthermore, he discusses the responsibilities of Muslims to actively share their beliefs, support those engaged in dawah efforts, and understand the urgency of guiding non-Muslims, highlighting the consequences of neglecting this duty. Overall, the message is a call to action for Muslims to be proactive in their faith and outreach.

Preparation: Weeks of Work and a Unified Vision

The day before the exhibition, 15 volunteers came together to set up the displays, organise the material, and prepare the masjid for welcoming our non-Muslim guests. But the true effort began weeks earlier.

The team worked tirelessly across Milton Keynes—designing posters, sharing online content, distributing leaflets, and speaking directly with the community.

Our mission was simple and sincere:
To invite our neighbours to learn about Jesus (peace be upon him) from an Islamic perspective inside the house of Allah.

Exhibition Day: Dawah Across the City

While part of our team prepared the exhibition for its 11am opening, our weekly dawah stations continued at three locations:

  • Central Library
  • Bletchley
  • Kingston

This consistency meant that dawah was happening across the entire city while the exhibition team awaited the first visitors.

A Quiet Start… Then Allah Opened the Doors

The first hour passed quietly. Naturally, a little fear crept into our hearts—
Had our marketing reached people? Would anyone actually come?

Then, suddenly, two non-Muslim visitors walked in.
That moment transformed everything. Hope returned, energy lifted, and motivation spread across the team.

By Dhuhr, over 20 volunteers were present. Many went outside and around the masjid, inviting people from nearby streets and shops.

And subhanAllah… the response began.

Alhamdulillah — A Beautiful Outcome

With Allah’s mercy, and the proactive effort of our volunteers on the day, more and more individuals entered the exhibition.

Our impact in numbers:

  • 20+ non-Muslims visited
  • 30 gift bags distributed
  • 40 Qurans given out
  • Countless conversations, connections, and seeds planted

Our honest reflection shows that most attendees came due to direct engagement by the team on the day—a powerful reminder that results come through effort, sincerity, and tawakkul

Volunteering at the Jesus Exhibition was a truly special experience. It was beautiful seeing people from all backgrounds come together, ask questions, and learn more about who Jesus is in Islam in such a calm and welcoming environment. I loved being part of a team that made the mosque feel open, friendly, and accessible to everyone. The meaningful conversations, curiosity from visitors, and sense of community throughout the day really showed how important events like this are. I would be more than happy to volunteer again. – R, Volunteer

A Moment of Witnessing Muslim Prayer

We also had the beautiful opportunity to take some of our non-Muslim guests upstairs to observe the Muslim prayer after Dhuhr, Asr, and Maghrib. Many of them had never stepped inside a masjid before, let alone witnessed the salah being performed in congregation.

Their reactions were powerful.
They described the experience as calming, spiritual, and deeply moving. Some expressed how touched they were by the unity, discipline, and serenity of the prayer. Others said it helped them understand Islam beyond what they had seen online or in the media.

These moments of witnessing worship opened meaningful conversations and left a lasting impression on their hearts—reminding us once again that sometimes the simplest acts of our faith speak louder than words.

Looking Ahead: December 2026 and Beyond

InshaAllah, we are planning another exhibition in December 2026, with the vision of making this an annual Milton Keynes tradition that welcomes and educates our wider community.

One beautiful idea came from a brother: to arrange transport for attendees who may struggle to reach the masjid. If a group of taxi drivers can volunteer their time, this could become a transformative addition to future exhibitions.

Final Reflection

This exhibition was more than just a one-day programme.
It was a testament to what happens when Muslims unite with sincerity, consistency, and a shared vision to convey the message of Islam.

May Allah accept from every volunteer, every supporter, and every person who walked into the masjid that day.

May He cause these seeds to grow in ways we could never imagine.

Ameen.
