Why do some people wait before taking shahada? In this weekly reflection of the MK Dawah mission, we encounter some of these stories. People already practice Islam by praying, fasting, and in their daily routine, but are still not ready to take shahada.
They want to do more research, find the answers to their questions, and want to feel more confident about Islam. All these experiences address many of the concerns people bring to us. Is Islam open to questions?
Does Islam welcome curiosity and explanation before stepping into it? Every seeker has their own unique journey. Some embrace Islam quickly, others practice but want to explore more based on their discoveries.
Islam is a religion of peace and freedom that allows everyone to do their research. And then seek the path of truth with sincerity and integrity.
There is no compulsion in religion. The right path has become clear from the wrong.
(Qur’an 2:256)
Witnessing Shahadha in CMK:
An interaction with a brother in CMK shows how dawah conversations guide people to Islam. The brother said he believes in reincarnation, so MK Dawah team member Favor started from there with him.
Brother favor tried to focus on things that they both actually agree on. Like, there has to be a creator. Then he covered GORAP, but when he moved to the Prophets. That’s where they had some issues because that gentleman was a Christian.
Brother Favor explained to him how Islam presents Jesus to Christians. We managed to agree on that, then he had some other questions that included some small Aqidah questions.
When our brother saw, he had a common understanding. Then he decided it would be worth it to ask him if he wanted to become a Muslim. And he said yes, Alhamdulillah, with the countless blessings of Almighty we took his shahada in the blessed month of Ramadan.
May the Most Compassionate make his journey of Islam easy for him. Center his heart upon His oneness and strengthen his Iman when the world wants to pull it apart. Make him a source of benefit for the Ummah. Ameen
Already Taken An Arabic Name But Is Waiting For Shahada In Bletchley:
One of our brothers had an interesting conversation with an Englishman. He shared his recent journey of learning Islam before Shahada. He has not taken his Shahada yet, but is taking introductory lessons from Imam Shazad at Wolverton Masjid.
The brother has already taken an Arabic name and introduced himself as Yusuf to us. We ask him why he is delaying his shahada, and he mentioned that he is already fasting, praying, and learning more about Islam.
He wants to feel more comfortable and confident before taking his shahada. He said he will take his shahada in the coming week, InshaAllah. Before leaving us, he donated to the MK Dawah mission, SubhanAllah.
May Al-Hadi make his path of steadfastness easy for him, strengthen his heart with the courage to embrace Islam confidently. Ameen
Kingston Moment: Pillars Of Islam Aren’t Stated In The Quran
People believe in Islam but have their own distinctions in the Islamic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. A brother from Egypt came with his son to our stall. He’s been trying to get his son to read the Quran and understand Islam.
The son looked interested and was happy to take the Quran and a leaflet. But the brother has a different understanding of Islam (May Allah grant him Hikmah). He only believes in the Quran, saying the pillars of Islam are not mentioned in the Quran.
We tried to explain to him that we are commanded to follow and obey the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). We gave him an example from the Quran, where Allah commanded us to establish five daily prayers.
But how to accomplish that isn’t in the Quran. But was taught by our Nobel Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). We also gave him a few other examples, but he stood his ground on his understanding.
But we were able to get the son from the reason to the points. And he said he will study the Quran himself and do his research.
Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah…
Quran (4:80)

Total Quran And Leaflet Given Out:
Every copy that is distributed represents the conversation started from a question or a false misconception. But ended up by exploring the path of truth through their own research.
Their first meaningful step towards the journey of firm faith and to know the oneness of the creator.
Alhamdulillah, we hand out 7 copies of the Quran, 12 Love of God, 4 Making sense of God, 11 The Last Messeager and 2 God’s Testimony.
Join MK Dawah Mission To Spread Islam:
Every message and conversation that opens the door of faith in someone’s heart brings them closer to Allah. The time you spend having a conversation about clearing their doubts is also counted by Allah (S.A.W).
So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.
