We always tried our best to convince and guide people that the message of Islam is the real truth. Some people stopped sharing their perspectives and left by taking a copy of the Quran. But some of them never stop or even bother to listen to us. 

All guidance comes from Allah. We don’t know where all these people who stopped at our Dawah stand came from. Some may have left their houses or traveled from different countries. 

But they took a moment to explore Islam. A few of them are already doing their research and just want to take their shahada.  And some people encountered Islam for the first time and received a physical copy of the Quran to truly understand what it is. 

Our purpose is to plant a seed in their hearts to learn more about Islam. They may take their shahada somewhere else. We just have to show up with consistency and sincerity. It’s only Allah who can reward for the efforts made in His path. 

MK Dawah witnessed it live during this week’s Dawah outreach. When a lady who’s been in search of the right religion for years embraced Islam at our Dawah stall. A brother we stopped to offer a leaflet simply said, “I want to take my shahadah”.

 “And those who strive for Us — We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”

People In CMK Are Influenced By What They’ve Heard Online About Islam

Why is the Quran perfectly preserved compared to the Bible? From day one, the primary method of preserving the Quran is memorization. When a revelation comes down to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), he recited it to his companions. They memorized the revealed verse or Surah and also wrote it down on the available material at that time. 

While diverse authors wrote the Bible over hundreds of years. The original manuscript was copied by human scribes, which led to misspellings, missing lines, and the addition of some extra elements.

This is the main point of discussion with an Indian Christian brother who lives in Liverpool. We also discussed the integrity and sources of the Bible. He said Isa (AS) was a perfect man, but Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) wasn’t. 

Brother, explain to him that as Muslims, we believe in Jesus as one of the respected Prophets of the Almighty. But Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is also the most beloved person and the last messenger of Allah. 

There was considerable back and forth, and he was firmly stuck with his views. We gave him a couple of Islamic materials to think about it. We encouraged him to approach Islam with an open mind and seek knowledge from authentic sources. 

Because he was very influenced by what he heard online. And wasn’t quiet educated in his claims about Islam. Islam isn’t all about what you see or hear online. To learn about a religion properly, you must do research with authentic sources.

Two People Accept Islam In Bletchley

We had just finished setting up the table and getting started. Brother Nihad stopped a sister who walked past and offered her a “Love of God” leaflet. She was open and wanted to have a conversation about religion. 

We had a long discussion, and she shared that she was born in a Christian family. Her father’s side was very religious, but her mother’s side was not. Her father consistently encouraged her to go to church. But it never made sense to her, nor the concept of the Trinity and Christianity. 

From the age of sixteen, she had mentally distanced herself from Christianity. And she started looking out for different religions. Now in her mid-40s to early 50s, she has spent many years exploring different beliefs.

We spoke at length about the definition of oneness of Allah and the connection between Prophets. We also discussed how Islam preserves the same message and the Quran has been unchanged. 

She agreed with all principles discussed. We went through the Quran with her twice, and at the end of the conversation she accepted everything. Initially, she was hesitant to take her shahada and said I want to learn more before committing.

Brother Nihad called the other team member, Brother Sadiq, into the conversation. He explained to her about Islam when it first came. People accepted the truth based on what they knew and then continued the learning. 

So, why are you not taking your shahada? When Allah has chosen you and allowed you to live life with guidance. Becoming Muslim is the beginning of the journey, not the end of learning. 

After having such a long conversation with her, we made dua to Allah SWT. Ya Allah, accept our efforts and grant brother Nihad this shahada. SubhanAllah, before long, As-Sami answered our dua. And she accepted Islam, Alhamdulillah. 

May Allah accept her shahada and make this blessed journey of Islam easy for her. Ameen 

He Just Came To Our Dawah Stand And Took His Shahada

The second shahada happened when we were about to pack up and leave. Brother Ahmad offered a leaflet to a gentleman named Storm who walked past. He said, “Can I talk to you for a minute”? 

He then shared that he had been studying Islam for a long time. He went to Morocco, spent time studying religion, and had been searching for the truth. Brother Ahmad asked him, “Are you ready to take your Shahada”? He said yes. With the grace of Divine mercy, he accepted Islam. 

Both Shahadas give us a reminder that we spent a lot of our time and efforts to convince people. And Allah has already prepared their hearts. Guide them towards the path of steadfastness. And simply send them to the right people at the right time. 

“So remind, for you are only a reminder. You are not over them a controller.”

Quran  (88:21–22) 

When Dawah Conversation Became Confrontational In Kingston

Difficult interactions such as harsh responses and negative comments are part of Dawah. It’s not something that happened online. We face this type of conflict most of the time during our live Islamic outreach.

The same incident occurred this week when a man casually approached our dawah stand. He asked for a copy of the Quran, and then suddenly the conversation became confrontational.  

If we react, it’s not only about our behavior but the representation of what we are doing. We have to handle the situation by composing ourselves with Sabr. The Ayah from the Quran really helped us stay calm in this chaotic situation. 

“And be patient, for your patience is only through Allah. Do not grieve over them, and do not be distressed by what they conspire.”

Quran (16:127)
