Can I meet my father in the hereafter? If the Almighty loves us more than anyone, why do innocent children die? Throughout this community outreach, we had several meaningful conversations with locals.
But every discussion met at one endpoint: “If God exists, why did this happen”? People of Central Milton Keynes are fighting with their grief, doubts, and unanswered questions. They asked how Islam heals and addressed the inner questions that had been weighing on their hearts.
A gentleman who lost his father 3 years ago but is still very attached to him. A lady who believes in the Big Bang, but not God. Everyone has their own perspective, believing in science but not the creator of this universe.
The MK Dawah team approaches each conversation from an Islamic perspective. Dive into the article to see how each conversation led them to walk away with a copy of the Quran.
In CMK Why Did She Come For A Quran After Refusing It?
Jesus is always the bridge between Islam and Christianity. People politely decline the conversation, saying, ‘We believe in Jesus. When we told them that, as Muslims, we also believe in Jesus. They were surprised and stopped to have a discussion.

The same incident happened this week, when initially a lady refused to take a copy of the Quran. She said she believed in Jesus. We then offered her a Jesus leaflet and said we also believe in Jesus as a Prophet. A belief that runs through many of our conversations about who Jesus really is in Islam.
She accepted the leaflet and walked away. A little later, she returned and asked for a copy of the Quran. May Allah SWT put barakah in her first step of reading the Quran and enlighten her heart with wisdom, Ameen.
If God Is Merciful, Why Does Suffering Exist? A Meaningful Conversation In Bletchley
The notable conversation was between brother Nihad and a lady. She approached the stall, and he asked her whether she believed in God. She eventually explained that she did not and raised some questions.
If God is Merciful, why are there wars? Why do innocent children die, and why do all these sufferings exist? Brother Nihad answered her questions, using examples to explain how Islam addresses the problem of evil.
He explained to her that this life is a test. Every blessing we receive and every suffering we experience, are also tests. We may not always know the wisdom behind everything. But Allah’s knowledge is beyond our own. Same question we’ve been asked before at this very stall, from a woman with Parkinson’s who asked why God would let this happen to her.

Then she raised the question of the Big Bang. Surprisingly, she believed in the Big Bang but not God and viewed everything as random. Then we gave her an example of an explosion. If there were a grenade explosion, would we ever expect a complete home without damage?
Or a perfectly functioning car as a result of that explosion? How can we say that an order comes from chaos randomly without any supreme being? Brother Nihad, refer her to the Quran, including Surah Al-Ambiya verse 30.
“Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them, and We made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?”
Qur’an 21:30
He used the Surah to explain to her how the Quran speaks about heaven and the earth being joined together and separated. It pointed towards Allah as the creator behind everything.
Why Does God Allow Bad Things To Happen?
Then the conversation touched another point of why God allows bad things to happen to good people. Brother Nihad again gave her an example of a nurse caring for a sick baby. She had some extra knowledge and knew that the child would grow up to become a serial killer.
If she had the choice to save that baby or allow the baby to die. Knowing what would happen in the future. What would she choose? The lady said she would allow the baby to die because she knew what the future held.

This helped to illustrate the point to her that we do not know the future. Whereas the Almighty has complete knowledge of what is to come. What may appear to us as something we can’t understand may have wisdom that is beyond our limited knowledge.
She took the Quran, Alhamdulillah, and mentioned that she’s travelling tomorrow. It will be a good read for her on the flight.
How Can I Meet My Loved Ones Who Passed Away? A Heartful Conversation In Kingston
We had a soulful conversation with a brother during our street outreach in Kingston. He lost his father 3 years ago and is still very attached to him. He was in deep pain and sorrow from thinking that he would never be able to meet him again.
The MK Dawah team told him that, in Islam, we have a concept of the afterlife. Death is considered a temporary separation but not a goodbye forever. With Allah’s mercy, believers will reunite with their family members in Jannah. They will stay there forever without the fear of losing each other. Just as we explained to an elderly gentleman who lit up at the idea of seeing his loved ones again.
“Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants.”
Qur’an 13:23
After the discussion, he looks so calm and at peace. May Allah SWT make it easy for him and also forgive our loved ones who passed away, Ameen.
